Disconnect The Dots

Slip and fall under water
With your sleeves on fire;
A favourite cosy sweater
Weighed down by guilt.
Eat a thousand nightmares,
Drink a shipwrecked sadness,
Unburdened by the knowing
That you forgot how to smile.
Yesterday you were still nothing
And today is much the same
Cloak your satisfaction in sadness
Wear it like a cape.
Objects on the open windowsill
Plummet to their demise
On the street below,
Shattered glass
Shines like diamonds,
If you look hard enough.
When you never learn to fly
You can’t know where to land.
But these are only words…
These are only words.
